Team 1

Clear weeds and their roots from surface, power wash afterwards – see historic photos – clear and kill plant growth on retaining wall – re-point if needed – power wash and restore the water trough at base – ironwork team to straighten railings

Team 2

Eastern slip: lift all loose granite slabs – re-set under specialist supervision using cement but pointing with lime mortar to achieve a level surface

Central slip: remove tarmac and cement infills – repoint with lime mortar – granite mooring ring and pin on large foreshore rock to be replaced by iron work team – clear plant growth from slip edge down to rocky foreshore

Team 3
Remove all weeds and growth up to vertical wall – remove recent tarmac and concrete patches – agree new surface finish to be applied at the end of the project – consider handrail fixed to vertical wall and a non-slip parth surface adjacent to the wall

Team 4

Remove all weed growth on sloping top of parapet wall and horizontal surface of first level – retain all tar and lichen growth – repoint between stones of vertical top half surface only – consider potential bulkhead lighting to lower vertical surface – re-set missing granite with tarred quoins, that are on the beach, with lime mortar

Team 5

Remove, recondition or replace with new wrought iron bar, the railings on quay itself – straighten railings and posts on the Access slip – remove granite quoin wrought iron staples on surface horizontal and vertical – replace with new wrought iron using lead and epoxy for fixing – replace galvanised moorings rings and pins on quay surface with wrought iron examples – fix three new ladders in position. Remove modern posts and lighting – remove and replace large mooring ring and pin on large foreshore rock adjacent to Central slip – straighten railings on East and West slips – repair traditional navigation lamp at end of quay and replace glass

Team 6

All teams together for this final job. Remove mud and weeds – review options on surface finish of existing concrete finish around railings – instal electric trunking under surface, agree post and bulkhead lighting and water and electric points with Planning and Harbour Master – identify areas of surface that have sunk—contact Cornwall Council planning and archeologist to agree restoration plan of lifting sunken stones and re-setting with lime mortar – agree final surface finish with CC Planning—quarry “dust” set in lime mortar? Newlyn Harbour to remove old mooring chains in foreshore and replace with new
