,Access to the Old Harbour is from Fore Street. There are Pay & Display car parks behind the Red Lion pub and at Sandy Cove, run by the harbour.  There is very limited parking on Gwavas Quay for deliveries but the access road is very steep. The cobbled road can be slippery in wet weather.

On Fore St, and only a minute away, there are two pubs, the Red Lion and the Fishermen’s Arms. There is a bus stop opposite the Red Lion; buses to Mousehole (west) or Penzance (East) are every 30 minutes, 10 minutes after the hour and half hour. On Gwavas Quay, there is the Fishermen’s Rest Cafe which serves daytime hot drinks, eats and cake. A portable WC is sited nearby.

Five minutes walk back towards Penzance from the Old Harbour are a number of pubs, restaurants, galleries and a Co-op.  Opposite, in the Old Post Office, and open on weekdays from 10-12 is the Newlyn Archive, home to thousands of documents donated by the harbour and local residents.
